University of Plymouth – Keeping A Finger on the Pulse With Touch Tech
Interactive touchscreen technology transforms Life Sciences Resource Centre into flexible collaborative teaching spaces supporting medical education
AV Refresh
The University of Plymouth's Life Sciences Resource Centre (LSRC) is at the heart of the institution's Peninsula Medical School. Working closely with the NHS, the medical school focuses on delivering outstanding clinical education alongside strong social engagement and world-class research.
As student numbers at the school have grown, the decision was taken to expand the educational facility at the LSRC with existing rooms expanded and new teaching rooms commissioned. The university wanted touchscreen technology to be at the heart of the new spaces to maintain a high level of student interaction in teaching sessions.

Project Details
Strive AV installed interactive touchscreen displays from iiyama across the expanded and new teaching spaces in the Life Sciences Resource Centre. The touchscreen technology enables flexible collaborative learning, allowing students to interact directly with digital content during teaching sessions.
The solution supports the medical school's focus on interactive clinical education, enabling tutors to deliver engaging presentations while students can annotate, collaborate and share content directly on the screens. This touch-enabled approach maintains the high level of student interaction that was key to the university's requirements.
Project Challenges
With student numbers growing at the Peninsula Medical School, the university needed to expand the LSRC facility while maintaining high-quality interactive teaching experiences.
