Interactive Displays, Smart Boards & Whiteboards for UK Schools and Higher Education
Interactive displays — often called smart boards or interactive whiteboards in education — have replaced traditional projectors and dry-wipe boards in most UK schools, colleges and universities. As an experienced UK smart board installer, we deploy and maintain touchscreen learning environments for primary classrooms, secondary teaching spaces, lecture theatres and university libraries, with the durability, classroom-management software and DfE-compliant fitting that education environments demand.

Q.How much does an interactive display cost in the UK?
Pricing depends on screen size, brand and whether the display is supplied alone or as part of an integrated room. As a guide, a 65-inch interactive display typically starts around £1,800 supply-only, with 75-inch and 86-inch units rising to £2,500–£5,000+. A turnkey installation including mounting, cabling, room PC, video conferencing and training is usually £4,000–£12,000+ per room. We provide fixed-price quotes after a short discovery call.
Q.What sizes of interactive display do you supply and install?
We design and install interactive displays from 55 inches up to 98 inches. The most common sizes for UK meeting rooms are 65-inch and 75-inch; classrooms typically use 75-inch or 86-inch; large training rooms and lecture theatres often use 86-inch or 98-inch. We also install interactive video walls and dual-screen setups for boardrooms.
Q.Which interactive display brands do Strive AV install?
We are vendor-agnostic and partner with the leading manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Sharp/NEC, Clevertouch, Promethean, Newline, BenQ and Microsoft Surface Hub. The right brand depends on your room size, budget, software ecosystem (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet) and management requirements.
Q.What is the difference between an interactive display and an interactive whiteboard?
An interactive whiteboard uses a separate projector and a touch-sensitive board surface, which is older technology. A modern interactive display is an all-in-one LED touchscreen with built-in computing, far higher resolution, much better visibility in lit rooms and lower long-term cost. Interactive displays have effectively replaced whiteboards in most new UK installations.
Q.Do interactive displays work with Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet?
Yes — modern interactive displays integrate natively with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and Google Meet hardware. We design these systems with certified cameras, microphones and codecs so in-room and remote participants get the same quality experience. We can certify your existing room or design a new one from scratch.
Q.How long does an interactive display installation take?
A single-room installation is usually completed in one day, including mounting, cabling, configuration of the room PC or OPS, integration with your video conferencing platform and a 30–45 minute user training session. Larger rollouts across multiple sites are scheduled to minimise disruption.
Q.Do you offer maintenance, support and finance for interactive displays?
Yes. We offer ongoing AV support contracts including remote monitoring, on-site response and proactive firmware management. We also offer leasing and operating-expense models so you can spread the cost of larger rollouts. Speak to our team for finance options that suit your budget cycle.
