The Full Microsoft AV Stack
A Microsoft-aligned organisation rarely stops at Teams Rooms. The estate that actually delivers hybrid work is broader: meeting rooms, touch-down spaces, signature boardrooms, lobby screens, dashboards and the booking layer that ties them together. Specifying each piece in isolation produces friction; specifying them as one estate, on one identity and one management plane, is what makes a UK Microsoft rollout feel coherent. The grid below is how we break the stack down on a typical site survey.
Teams Rooms (Pro, Signature, Front Row)
Certified meeting room appliances on Android or Windows, running the Teams Rooms client. Pro licensing unlocks intelligent capture, Front Row layout and Intelligent Speakers; Signature is the high-end front-of-room experience used in boardrooms.
Strive delivers: certified bundles from Logitech, Poly, Yealink, Lenovo and Crestron Flex, with Teams Admin Centre enrolment and Pro Management Portal monitoring.
Surface Hub 2S and Surface Hub 3
Microsoft's own large-format collaboration display. Surface Hub 3 adds a removable Teams Rooms compute cartridge, so the same chassis can be used as a meeting room device or a digital whiteboard, with Whiteboard, OneNote and Loop pre-wired.
Strive delivers: wall and mobile-stand mounting, Intune enrolment, room-resource configuration and refresh from Hub 2S to Hub 3 where it makes sense.
Microsoft Places
The hybrid-work platform that sits across Outlook, Teams and the booking layer: room and desk reservations, occupancy signals from Teams Rooms hardware, "who is in today" visibility and intent-based scheduling. Included with Teams Premium.
Strive delivers: Places enablement, room and desk metadata clean-up, Teams Rooms occupancy sensor integration and a usable booking experience for end users.
Microsoft Lobby and Wayfinding Signage
Reception and wayfinding screens running on Microsoft-aligned signage tooling: visitor welcome, building maps, floor directories and meeting room status pulled from the same room mailboxes that Teams uses.
Strive delivers: screen specification, CMS configuration, content templates that match the in-house brand and integration with the booking layer so directories stay in sync.
Power BI Dashboard Signage
Operational dashboards published from Power BI to wall displays in operations centres, sales floors and breakout areas. Live KPIs, refreshed on a schedule, governed by the same Azure AD identities that protect the underlying data.
Strive delivers: dashboard-grade display specification, secure kiosk-mode workstations, Power BI workspace permissions and a refresh cadence that does not break under load.
Teams Phone and Certified Presentation Hardware
Teams Phone with Direct Routing, Operator Connect or Calling Plan, plus the certified presentation and personal hardware that lives around the estate: AudioCodes session border controllers, Poly and Yealink desk phones, Jabra and EPOS headsets, room cameras and content cameras.
Strive delivers: Teams Phone design and number porting, SBC configuration, headset and phone rollouts at scale and a single asset list across the estate.
Microsoft Places is the layer that changes how a 2026 Microsoft AV estate is designed: occupancy data from certified Teams Rooms hardware, desk and room booking, and "who is in today" signals all converge in Outlook and Teams, so the AV install must be specified with Places in mind from day one. We design Microsoft estates around Places end-to-end, so the rooms, displays, signage and dashboards report into the same hybrid-work platform your people actually book against.
Microsoft Solutions FAQs
Q.What Microsoft solutions do Strive AV deliver in the UK?
We are a Microsoft Managed Partner and Microsoft Modern Work Solutions Partner. Our UK practice covers Microsoft Teams (chat, meetings and calling), Teams Phone with direct routing or Operator Connect, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) on Android and Windows, Teams Premium, Copilot for Microsoft 365, Microsoft Places, Microsoft Surface Hub 3 and Microsoft 365 device management via Intune. We design, deploy, integrate and support all of these as a single accountable partner.
Q.How much does a Microsoft Teams Room cost in the UK?
A small huddle MTR with a certified single-camera bar (Logitech, Poly, Yealink or Neat) and a 55-inch display typically starts around £4,500–£7,500 supplied and installed. A standard 8–12 person room with dual displays, certified PTZ camera and table or ceiling mics runs £8,000–£15,000. Boardroom-class MTRs with multi-camera tracking, ceiling mic arrays and DSP audio range from £20,000 to £50,000+. These prices exclude Microsoft 365 and Teams Rooms Pro licences.
Q.What is Teams Premium and do I need it?
Teams Premium is a paid Microsoft 365 add-on (around £8 per user per month UK list price) that unlocks advanced meeting features — intelligent recap, AI-generated meeting notes, real-time translation, sensitivity-label protected meetings, watermarking, advanced webinars and virtual appointments. It also enables Microsoft Places functionality. We typically recommend Teams Premium for executive teams, regulated sectors needing meeting governance, and organisations that want full Copilot meeting value across in-room and remote participants.
Q.What is Microsoft Copilot and how does it work in Teams Rooms?
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is an AI assistant that works inside Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams Rooms. Inside a Teams meeting it produces live summaries, action items and Q&A based on the meeting transcript. In a Microsoft Teams Room, Copilot works automatically when the meeting organiser has a Copilot for Microsoft 365 licence (around £25 per user per month UK list price) — both in-room and remote participants benefit. It pairs particularly well with Teams Rooms Pro and Teams Premium.
Q.Which Microsoft devices and hardware brands do you install?
We install Microsoft Surface Hub 3, Microsoft-certified Teams Rooms appliances from Logitech, Poly, Yealink, Neat, Lenovo, HP and Crestron, plus Teams-certified phones, headsets and personal devices from Jabra, EPOS and Plantronics/Poly. We are vendor-agnostic and recommend hardware based on room size, IT management strategy, your video platform mix and budget. All hardware is integrated with Microsoft 365, Intune and the Teams Admin Centre.
Q.Can Microsoft Teams Rooms join Zoom and Cisco Webex meetings?
Yes. Microsoft Teams Rooms support direct guest join for Zoom and Cisco Webex meetings on most certified MTR appliances, allowing the room to join external Zoom or Webex calls without a laptop. For richer interoperability — full feature parity, BYOD with content sharing — we typically recommend MTR on Windows or interoperability gateways like Pexip and Microsoft CVI partners. We assess your typical meeting mix during the design phase and recommend the right model.
Q.Do you offer Microsoft Teams Rooms support and managed services in the UK?
Yes. Our UK-wide managed services include 24/7 helpdesk support, proactive monitoring via Teams Admin Centre and Pro Management Portal, firmware and security update management, room-account hygiene, on-site break-fix with 4-hour SLA options, hardware refresh planning and quarterly service reviews. We support MTR estates regardless of who installed them and can re-certify rooms that have drifted from Microsoft compliance.
Q.Do you offer finance and Microsoft as-a-Service?
Yes. We offer leasing and a Microsoft-as-a-Service model so you can bundle certified hardware, Microsoft 365 and Teams Rooms Pro licensing, installation, training and ongoing support into a single monthly per-room operating cost. This is popular with UK organisations rolling out 10+ rooms or wanting to move capex to opex. Speak to our team for finance options aligned to your budget cycle and refresh strategy.
